Organizational Development Manager Virginia Tech
The Organizational Development Manager works in partnership with the Director of University Organizational Development and other university departments to implement a combination of core succession planning, learning, and development solutions to develop a pipeline of individuals at Virginia Tech who are prepared to step in to leadership positions. In addition, the Organizational Development Manager will provide general HR advice and counsel to several campus leadership areas.
Work in partnership with the Director of University Organizational Development and other university departments to implement a combination of core succession planning, learning, and development solutions to develop a pipeline of individuals at Virginia Tech who are prepared to step in to leadership positions. Provide HR generalist support to units assigned to this position including: Office of the President, Vice President for Development and University Relations, Vice President for Multicultural Affairs, College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, Vice President for Outreach and International Affairs. Co-lead talent review and succession planning processes within function. Align development, performance management and diversity initiatives to close identified short, mid and long term talent gaps (performance competencies, etc). Provide analytical and professional advice in the areas of organizational excellence and talent management (planning, on-boarding, assessing and deploying, developing and managing performance). Plan and provide Talent Management strategy, direction, advice and counsel to HR Partners. Articulate and implement a functional level Talent Management vision, strategy, and action plan or roadmap. In strong partnership with the Executive Development Institute and HR Partners, lead and manage the talent processes, tools and frameworks at the functional level. Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on quality management program effectiveness, training program content and participant satisfaction.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in organizational development, public administration, organizational management, human resources, or a related field or bachelor's degree with relevant experience that equates to an advanced degree. Extensive, progressive experience providing strategic resources external and internal surrounding talent development with demonstrated competence in organizational design, planning, and evaluation; knowledge of organizational development techniques, programming, assessment and research methods; ability to demonstrate high standards of customer service and accountability for program results; and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
