ACHRA is the Albemarle/Charlottesville Human Resource Association, Inc., a Virginia nonstock 501(c)(6) corporation. An affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM Chapter #0024), ACHRA’s mission is to serve as a recognized resource and provide leadership to its membership and the business community through sharing and promoting best practices in human resource management.

2010 Goals and Initiatives

  • To continue to conduct the business of the Chapter, steward our resources, and provide outstanding learning and development opportunities
  • To pursue four Chapter initiatives, consistent with SHRM’s new standards for exceptional Chapter performance:
    • Conduct a member survey to assess ACHRA’s performance and identify ways to better serve our members and the broader community;
    • Increase ACHRA’s presence online by leveraging social media;
      Honor outstanding human resource efforts by holding the first annual ACHRA Awards program; and
    • Demonstrate our commitment to diversity by establishing a task force to explore diversity in our chapter, our profession, and our community.
