Articles of Incorporation & Bylaws

Special Announcement!

The ACHRA Board of Directors, at its November 2009 board meeting, took the final steps to incorporate ACHRA, making the organization tax-exempt.  With the adoption of corporate status, ACHRA will become a 501(c)(6) entity, operating as a trade or business as established by the Internal Revenue Service.  This process has been thorough and the board has received excellent advice from our attorney at McGuireWoods. 

In keeping with our present Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 1, this email shall serve as notice of amending our bylaws.  Please review the Articles of Incorporation (updated 11/6/09), which establishes ACHRA, Inc. as a Virginia nonstock corporation; and, the new Bylaws of ACHRA, Inc.  At our December 8 membership meeting, I will ask formal approval from the membership on both of these documents.
