This presentation will offer participants the opportunity to gain a better understanding of EQ, gain a more in depth understanding of where EQ comes from, how it can be used to advantage and even improved, and how to look for it at the interview stage. Learning Objectives: • Be able to define Emotional Intelligence (EI). • Have seen several different models of EI. • Have had several tools for assessing and measuring EI described. • Learn tools and techniques for improving EI in themselves and others. • Learn the basics of building a business case for why organization investment in EI analysis and skill building is critical. • Learn tips for “selling” EI to their organizations. Certified by the Hay Group in the area of Emotional Intelligence, Joyce Hartpence has been designing and delivering experiential based programs to a multitude of businesses and organizations since 1979. Joyce founded Teamworks Training and Development, Inc. in July of 1992 and co-founded Teamworks International in 2001. The programs that she has designed and delivered to a multitude of businesses and universities are in the areas of communication, decision-making, cooperation, motivation, increased competitive pressure, leadership and trust. Over the course of her career, Joyce has worked with a multitude of businesses, nonprofit organizations, government organizations, schools, and universities in North America, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin and South America Philippines, and Southern Africa. Her clients have included Johns Hopkins University, the National Institute of Health, the Wharton School of Business, Chemonics International Inc., Siemens, Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank, Firmenich, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, the World Bank/International Finance Corporation, and, locally, SNL Financial. She has presented workshops to the American Society of Training and Development, the Association of Experiential Education, the National Zero Balancing Conference, Johns Hopkins University; and the Organizational Development Network. |
